Source: Marketing to Millennials? Make Mini Movies Your Method
The article above lists quite a few millennial stats any business owner and marketer will appreciate. Here’s three I find very intriguing:
● 85 percent find product demo videos helpful
● Nearly 75 percent find video helpful when comparison shopping
● 79 percent are likely to watch a company video when shopping online
Being a millennial myself, I can attest that I fit the mold. When making purchases I often checkout peer reviews, YouTube videos, or any expert reviews and comparisons I can get my hand on. The reasons for each consumer will vary, but think of it as window-shopping before we even head to the store.
As a marketer/business owner/entrepreneur, how can this information benefit YOUR business? It tells ME that if my audience includes millennials, I can benefit from adding a few videos (which I’m working on) to this blog, and my other businesses, in an effort to provide the visual content my audience may be seeking.
Adding videos and mini-movies doesn’t have to be a daunting task. There are numerous options and relatively easy to use software for the Do It Yourselfer. However, remember the audience you’re seeking to reach. This might be one of those times where hiring a professional will pay off in the long run.
I know, I know, creating content and publishing a new media may seem like a pain, but it doesn’t have to be. Does your business already blog or publish newsletters? Well, repurpose that material, make a few bullet points, get in front of the camera and share it in accordance with your marketing plan. You can still direct your audience to the written blog or newsletter for more specific details, but using video can help your Search Engine Optimization (SEO) rankings as well.
